I’ve taken time to write some of my best blogging tips. I called it my 8 easy steps for easy cash flow. If you follow these steps, you should start making money online in some few days or weeks from now.
In case you are new to blog, a blog is a weblog or an online journal where useful and relevant information is kept and maintained for the use of community of readers and surfers who are interested in such content.
When you have a targeted blog and you maintain the blog by keeping the readers motivated with useful and valuable information, you are assured of readers continuous attraction to the blog. Furthermore, when you have a blog, you have the opportunity to monetize such a blog alongside the content thereby transforming the blog into an income generator. As such, you will have a continuous inflow of cash blogging.
Here are 8 steps to setting up and maintaining an income generating blog:
Step 1 – Choose a Topic
This is very important as it is the foundational step which determines the success or failure of your entire blogging exercise. There is need to be focused here and choose the right topic.
Think of a topic you are interested in and write it down. Also make sure it is something other people are interested in too and they are searching for.
There are a number of online keyword research tools you can use to discover how interested people are in certain topics or niches and how well they are searching for such topics. One of such tools is the Google Adwords External KeywordTool.
In choosing your topic, be sure to go for one that is not too competitive and at the same time has a relatively high search volume. This helps to give your blog faster exposure and also transform your blog into an income generator in record time.
During the process of your keyword research, write down about five top keywords in the niche you came up with, as this will help you in the process of creating content for your blog.
Step 2 – Create Your Blog
Having found a niche of interest and the right keyword to be used, proceed to create your blog online. There are free and paid blog creation platforms. For instance, Blogger.com and wordpress.com are both blog creation platforms. Blogger (blogspot) is a free platform while wordpress has both free and paid versions. A paid version makes blogging exercise more flexible and gives you an opportunity to customize the blog according to your preference. Within the platform you use, you can find the information needed to set up your blog.
Step 3 – Populate Your Blog With Relevant Content
One of the vital aspects people seem to miss out when they first get into blogging is the fact that their blog must contain information that people want to read.
Create your content, make it original, and make it informative. This is one of the main keys required to make money with blogs. You need to include the keywords you wrote down in Step 1 in the content of your blog but don’t overuse them as this act may send out bad signals to the search engines that may see it as keyword spamming.
Step 4 – Sign Up for Adsense
Adsense is placement of external adverts relating to the content of your blog within your blog. Clicking these adverts by readers of your blog generates easy income for you.
Sign up for Google Adsense and insert the code into your blog. You can customize your adverts in many ways such as text links or image links.
Adsense is an instant way of generating income with your blog continuously without much effort on your part.
Step 5 – Find Something to Sell
If you don’t want to sell anything and you are happy with the income Google Adsense is bringing in, then you can skip this step. But if you want to maximize your income and truly learn how to make much money with blogs, you will want to find an affiliate program to join. An affiliate program is one which gives you a commission whenever you sell a product of any of the merchants listed in the program. Selling these products is made easy through blogging.
A couple of affiliate programs I would suggest are ClickBank and Commission Junction. Amazon also has an affiliate program. You can sell anything from office furniture, pet supplies, movies and clothing to PC games, Dieting tips, Audio software and much more.
Whatever program you join will supply the code you need to insert into your blog, but be sure to do this correctly.
Step 6 – Social Bookmarking
You need to generate traffic in form of readers and prospective customers to your blog as you can only generate income through the clicking of adsense adverts or purchase of products by the readers or customers who visit your blog. Social bookmarking sites are very good traffic generating media. So, join some social bookmarking sites. They are used for people to share their bookmarks or websites that they have ‘liked’ with other people in their online community. This will bring in people to visit your blog and generate money for you through any of the monetization programs on your blog.
Step 7 – Write an Article
Whether your blog is about a specific product, for example a certain MP3 Player you are promoting, or just about giving people information, I would suggest you write an article or a review of it.
Submit your article to any of the 100′s of article directories which are out there. EzineArticles, ArticleDashboard and SearchWarp are some of the top article directories to which you can submit your article. The article directory usually provides a resource box at the end of your article in which you can introduce your blog to people to visit for more content. This serves as an opportunity to generate money from your monetized blog as more and more people visit.
Step 8 – Update Your Blog Regularly
Learn to update your blog regularly with fresh, useful and relevant content or information. This serves as an attraction to readers or customers and keeps them coming back, which of course will translate into more money for you.
A Bonus Step – Build A List
If you have your own product or newsletter, you can offer it to your visitors free in exchange for their personal details. This is an easy way to get visitors to sign up to receive updates or further information from you. This helps you to contact the visitors again and again with more great information or products you wish to sell.
